The 2nd Annual 48 Hour Play Festival

We’re back for round two! It’s another chance to beat the clock as we produce original short plays in just 48 hours.

Festival runs January 17-19, 2025
Performance on January 19, 2025
Produced by Zack Kinsley-Greeley and Devin Dumas

Over the course of a weekend, a collection of original short plays will be written, produced, and performed! Here's how it will happen:

At 7:00PM on January 17, our event’s hosts, Zack and Devin, will kick off the festival by announcing the prompt for all participating writers. The prompt will include a few elements that must be included in the submitted scripts to keep the writing element of the competition fair. Playwrights will have 24 hours to write and submit a short play.

On the evening of January 18, directors will meet at the theater to select which of the submitted plays they would each like to direct. Plays will be presented to the directors anonymously. All interested actors will audition with a one minute monologue of their choice in front of the directors between 5:00pm and 7:00pm. Actors will not be auditioning for specific plays or roles as the plays won’t be selected until after the audition.

Bright and early at 9:00AM on January 19, actors will meet their director and to prepare for an ambitious rehearsal/performance day. Selected writers are also welcome to join to see their plays come to life, though directors will have full creative power. The entire day will be spent working on the plays — blocking, memorizing lines as possible, costuming, and rehearsing.

The show will be open to the general public with a suggested $5 donation. Curtain goes up at 8:00PM.

We’re looking forward to seeing you there for a fun evening!

Thank you to everyone who registered to participate! If you did not register but you’re still interested in participating as an actor or writer, please reach out to Devin and Zack
